Create the existing Democratic or Republican party-period series.

Syntax

PARTY_SERIES(series,party)

Details

Raw D or a quoted D selector chooses the Democratic series; raw R or quoted R chooses Republican. Selectors are case-normalized after removing outer quotes. For compatibility, other selectors still take the legacy Republican branch. The supplied series defines the observation dates; this does not estimate an economic effect.
